Electroplating
Plating in our own workshop for hardware, letters and decorative parts — a durable metal finish for custom pieces.
Plating is a real metal layer, not paint, and holds its shine and colour far longer than paint or spray. Part of our own production, not outsourced.
Copper, nickel and 24-karat gold in our own workshop
Electroplating at Preiss Workshop is done in our own workshop: parts are plated with copper, nickel and 24-karat gold in the plating bath and mirror-polished. We plate both metal parts and 3D-printed parts made conductive and copper-electroformed — letters, locker numbers, handles, brackets, lights and decorative details.
That is how light 3D-printed letters with the finish of solid gold, gold-plated locker numbers for Kef Spa and wall lights with a gold-plated cage for Hotel Keflavík come about. The plating is a real metal layer and holds its shine and colour far longer than paint or spray.
Electroplating is part of our own production and shortens the path from a 3D print or CNC cut to a finished piece.
What can be electroplated?
Metal parts and 3D-printed or plastic parts we make conductive and copper-electroform: letters, numbers, handles, brackets, light fittings and decorative details.
Does gold plating last?
The plating is a real metal layer, not a colour. It holds its shine and colour far longer than painted or sprayed surfaces in normal use.
Can you plate an item I already own?
Usually, yes. Send a photo and measurements and we assess whether the item suits the bath and what preparation it needs.
Start with drawings, photos or measurements.
Send drawings, photos, measurements or a rough idea. We review the project and recommend the next step.
